PixelSpy — Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 25, 2026

This privacy policy applies to PixelSpy (macOS color picker), bundle identifier com.zeroordinal.pixelspy, App Store ID 6792225286, published by zeroordinalsoftwarestudio.

1. Summary

PixelSpy is designed to keep color picking and color management local on your Mac. It does not require an account and does not operate a cloud service for your colors, projects, or notes.

2. Local processing

PixelSpy processes screen pixels locally for the magnifier and selected color. Temporary preview pixels around the pointer are used during picking and are discarded after the picker closes. Selected color values and organization data you create are stored locally on your Mac.

3. Screen Recording permission

PixelSpy requires macOS Screen Recording permission to read the color of a pixel you choose. It does not record video or audio and does not upload screen content for color features.

4. Local storage

May include color history, display-related metadata for picks, names, tags, projects, notes, favorites, and app preferences. No automatic cloud sync of this content.

5. Clipboard / import / export

Clipboard is written only when you copy a value. Import/export only touches files you select; content is not automatically uploaded.

6. Crash diagnostics

PixelSpy may use Firebase Crashlytics for crash reports (stability only, not advertising). Crash data may include stack traces, app/OS version, device metadata, and installation identifiers. No Crashlytics user ID is set for personal identification of color history. See Google Firebase privacy materials.

7. Payments

Distributed via the Apple App Store. Apple handles purchases and payment details. We do not store payment card numbers. Apple privacy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
